Teach Gratitude To Your Children
“Gratitude is the memory of the heart”- French proverb
As per child
experts, a kid’s personality shapes during his growing years between ages
1-7.
We often think
they are just kids, what will they understand? But the fact is that they are at
the most adaptive and developing stage picking up on language, meaning,
routine, and lifestyle.
Thus, the right
time to teach gratitude is at an early age. Kids grasp and execute as they
learn without much resistance. Besides kids learning gratitude as moral science
in school, it should be also taught at home too.
What’s
Complete Gratitude?
Being thankful is
one thing but being accepting of facts and respecting others is the real deal.
For instance, you wanted ice cream after dinner is a desire. The first
learning says thank the person who bought it. But this is not complete
gratitude. You must realize the effort put it and must feel happy for the
fulfilment of your desire. This is when gratitude is complete.
You will be
grateful only when you feel happy and give out good vibes along the way. There
are so many ways to feel grateful for small events such as being thankful for
every healthy meal, drinking clean water, wearing good clothes and living in a
cosy shelter, etc.
Teach
gratitude at Kinder Age
Naïve age is
great to incept a good idea because it can flourish over a period. When
children are taught gratitude they become better individuals with satisfied
souls. Kids are cute mimic artists, so the best way to teach gratitude to kids
is to do it every day in front of them and then with them. If gratitude becomes
a part of their belief system, your job is properly done. A gratitude practice
can help achieve peace of mind. When kids grow up they are surrounded by
responsibilities and reality at hand. Thus, sowing the seeds of gratitude at
kinder age will prove to be a blessing.
