Sri Lanka To Restrict Islamic Activities
The government of Sri Lanka has indicated
that soon they will be putting restrictions on some Islamic practises owing to
national security reasons. The first change will be that more than 1000 Islamic
schools will be shut in the country as these institutions have been flouting
national education policy. Another big change will be that women will not be
permitted to wear burqa to cover themselves. As per the official, this
practice is a sign of religious extremism & such practise never existed in
the past in this country.
