Firstly, please tell them the truth. They deserve to know & a lot has been already invested in you by them. Now, if you are aware that you didn't work hard enough then accept & apologise for the same. Considering another scenario that you did your best but still, the outcome was disappointing, I guess they will understand. Most parents are aware of the approach & attitude of their children. However, you need to be calm, focused & consistent in your efforts. There is no exam in the world can define & decide the absolute future of a person. So, be brave & keep your parents informed.

I just found out my grades and they are not at all as per my parent's expectations, I can fairly assume their reaction. don't know what to do?
